Firm Profiles
FTMO
The most established prop firm. Known for consistent payouts, strict but fair rules, and strong trader community. Static drawdown calculated from initial balance. Best for disciplined traders with a proven strategy. Fee refunded on first payout.
FundedNext
One of the fastest-growing firms. Slightly lower profit targets than FTMO (8% vs 10%), competitive pricing and high payout splits. Popular with traders coming from other firms. Strong support and active community.
The5ers
A unique model with multiple programs including the Bootcamp (low cost, small account, scales up) and Hyper (2-step like others). No minimum trading days. Tighter drawdown limits (6% max) which requires more disciplined risk management.
MyFundedFX
Competitive pricing with refundable fees. Similar rules to FTMO and FundedNext. Good option for traders looking for a lower entry cost on larger account sizes. Slightly lower payout split on base tier (75%) but upgradeable.
How to Choose the Right Prop Firm
If you're a forex/gold trader
FTMO or FundedNext are the standard choices. Both have excellent instrument coverage including XAUUSD, major pairs and indices. FTMO has the longer track record; FundedNext tends to be slightly cheaper.
If cost is your primary concern
FundedNext and MyFundedFX typically offer lower challenge fees for equivalent account sizes. Both refund the fee on your first successful payout, making the real cost $0 if you pass.
If you want the strictest rules
FTMO is widely considered the most rigorous and therefore the most respected funded account in the industry. Passing FTMO carries weight if you ever want to attract investors or trade for others.
If you trade futures
Apex Trader Funding and Topstep are the leading futures prop firms. They use trailing drawdown which creates different risk dynamics — your floor rises as your balance grows, which can be more restrictive on good days.
